Kathryn Bridget Moynahan (born April 28, 1971) is an American model and actress. She is known for her supporting roles in films such as Coyote Ugly (2000), The Recruit (2003), I, Robot (2004) and Lord of War (2005).

Early life

Moynahan was born in Binghamton, New York, the daughter of an Irish woman, Mary Bridget (née Moriarty), a former school teacher, and an Irish man named Edward Bradley Moynahan, a scientist and currently an administrator at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She grew up in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, along with her two brothers, Andrew and Sean; she is the middle child. Moynahan attended Longmeadow High School and graduated in 1989. In high school, she was active in school athletics, participating in soccer, basketball and lacrosse.

Personal life

She dated producer Scott Rosenberg and actors John Corbett and Edward Burns. Moynahan dated NFL quarterback Tom Brady from 2004 until December 14, 2006.123 On February 18, 2007, Moynahan's representative confirmed to People magazine that she was more than three months pregnant and that Brady was the father. 4 She gave birth to a baby boy, John Edward Thomas Moynahan 5 at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica6 on August 22, 2007. In a July 2008 interview in Harper's Bazaar, Moynahan discussed her willingness to raise her son (nicknamed "Jack") as a single mother. 7

Career

As a model, Moynahan has appeared on many magazine covers, including Elle, Self, Fitness Magazine, New Woman and Glamour. She did not begin to pursue acting until after starting her modeling career. In May 2006, Maxim magazine named her #96 on its annual Hot 100 list.8 She ranked No. 67 on AskMen.com's Top 99 women of 2007.

She studied acting at the Caymicheal Patten Studio in New York City. In 1999, she had her first major acting role (in a guest appearance) as "Natasha" in the TV series Sex and the City, which turned into a recurring role until the divorce of her character from Big. Her breakthrough role in a feature film was as "Rachel" in Coyote Ugly a year later. Since then, she has appeared in a number of major films, such as Serendipity, The Sum of All Fears, The Recruit, I, Robot, and Lord of War.
