Georgina Jane 'Georgie' Thompson is a broadcast journalist and television presenter for Sky Sports and Sky Sports News. She was born on 25 September 1977.

Georgie presents the Afternoon Report and/or the Evening Update on Sky Sports News.

Education

Thompson was educated at Queenswood boarding school, with now fellow television presenter and friend Natalie Pinkham, where she took part in junior international tennis competitions1, representing Englandcitation needed. She then studied Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds, graduating with a 2:1 in 1999.2

Career

After graduating, Thompson worked as a production assistant on a research and production scheme for GMTV before moving to Sky Sports in January 2001.2

She has covered many major sporting events for the network since then, including the US Open Tennis and has been part of Sky's coverage of the A1 Grand Prix, Grand Prix Masters, Speedway World Cup, Race of Champions and Americas Cup. 3 She is a presenter on Sky Sports News,4 often presenting Afternoon Report.

She also presented Sky One's Greatest Sporting Legends with David Frost.5

In popular culture

In the May 2007 issue of the British men's magazine FHM, Georgie was voted the 93rd Sexiest Woman in the World.6.
