Wesley Eric Weston, Jr.12 (born March 3, 1981),1 better known by his stage name Lil' Flip, is a Grammy Award Nominated American rapper. Lil' Flip is known for his freestyle ability and claims to have been on 1000 mixtapes. He is one of the first southern and Houston rappers to become mainstream nationally known. He has sold nearly 10 million albums in the U.S and 14 million worldwide. Lil' Flip has been dubbed "The Best Freestyler Alive","The Freestyle King" by both his fans and peers due to everything he has done for the south. Lil Flip literally built his career from the streets and ground up. Going from an Undaground Legend to a mainstream rapper. He also helped prove the south can produce quality lyricists. Lil' Flip released his 6th studio album entitled "Respect Me" on September 29, 2009. After already releasing Certified in 2009.

Feud With T.I.
Feud with Atlanta-based rapper T.I. started sometime in 2004. T.I. went to the Cloverland hood of Houston with his bodygaurd and psc, to try to expose Lil' Flip as a fraud. Thinking he wouldn't be there. He was met there by Flip, and a fight broke out. Witnesses from the scene said T.I. was scared he ranned from Flip, after being punched by one of Flips boys Flip met up with T.I. and swung on T.I. (hit him). Several diss tracks have been released from both sides. T.I. has released songs "P.A.N. (Pussy Ass Nigga)", A live freestyle from Atlanta, and a written diss to Jay-Z's "99 Problems". Flip responded with a freestyle to Fat Joe's "Lean Back", "You Know I Got Those Thangs", and They Call Me F.L.I.P." Lil' Flip also recorded a mixtape with houston rapper 'Z-ro' dissing T.I.
Music career
The Leprechaun
The Leprechaun is the first album released independently from Houston rapper Lil' Flip. The album spawned the single "I Can Do That". It sold originally 200,000 domestic copies but was later certified gold.
Undaground Legend
Undaground Legend is Lil' Flip's most critically acclaimed album. It was released by Loud Records and didn't get much promotion. It sold 70,000 domestic copies in its first week and went on to be certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has sold 3 million copies worldwide. The few critics that did review it stated that it is one of the best rap albums to come out of both Texas and the south. They praised his lyrical quality. Praising his songs "What I been Through" feat Big T, Lil Ron, and Yung Redd, "Make Mama Proud" and "R.I.P DJ Screw" feat Bizzy Bone. They said that with more promotion and if those songs were released as singles that the album could have been a worldwide crossover success.
U Gotta Feel Me
U Gotta Feel Me is his most successful album to date. Lil' Flip signed to Sony Urban Music and released his first single, "Game Over". He released his second single, "Sunshine" featuring Lea. Game over reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Sunshine reached #2. Both gaining platinum status. This album sold 198,000 domestic copies in its first week and later went on to sell over 4 million copies to be certified 4x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Worldwide sales stand at 5 million.
I Need Mine
Lil' Flip's album I Need Mine was released March 27, 2007. It was set to be released earlier but due to differences with his record label Sony Urban Music, the album being leaked by Sony Urban Music, among other things Lil' Flip decided to buy out his contract. He also decided to take it back to the studio and record more songs. The first single was a track entitled "What It Do" but after album redid the album his new single became "Ghetto Mindstate" with received numerous radio play and video spins on 106 And Park. The album ended up being a double disk and had 39 tracks (20 on the first disk & 19 on the second disk). After the "I Need Mine Tour", Flip announced his new group Dream Team. It sold 150,000 domestic copies in its first week and went on to be certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Selling over 3 million worldwide.
Certified
Lil' Flip's album Certified-Lil Flip is the 5th studio album by rapper Lil' Flip. It debuted at #95 on the Billboard Hot 100 selling over 3,000 domestic copies in its first week. No singles were released but there was much promotion for the album and still didnt sell that well. Lil Flip did state that it would continue the direction of 2007's "I Need Mine" and 2004's "U Gotta Feel Me" rather than 2002's "Undaground Legend" because of all of his commercial success. This album helped him regain his mainstream image. It has to date sold 20,000 worldwide.
Respect Me
Lil' Flip's album Respect Me was released September 29, 20093. This album was released on Clover G/Hi Power Entertainment/E1 Entertainment.4 There were no singles or videos released from the album. Lil Flip calls it the "album-before-the-album"4, he's talking about this album being released before Ahead of My Time.
Ahead of My Time
Lil' Flip's album Ahead of My Time is slated to be released December 2009. The album is going to be released on Clover G/Hi Power Entertainment/Asylum/Warner Bros.. The first single off the album is called "Kim Kardashian." The video for the song "Deep in the South", which will also to be featured on the album, premiered on WorldStarHiphop5 on August 30, 2009.
