Niatia Jessica Kirkland (born October 4, 1989),2 better known as "Lil Mama", is an American rapper currently signed to Jive Records. Kirkland was born in Harlem and later moved to the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York where she attended Edward R. Murrow High School.3 She is currently a judge on the show America's Best Dance Crew.

Controversy

At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys closed the show performing "Empire State of Mind". Near the end of the performance Kirkland jumped on stage interrupting the performance. She is Currently dating Tequan Richmond from Everybody Hates Chris.
